Editor's Note

Powerful coming-of-age story…

The wait is over! “My Brilliant Friend” author Elena Ferrante is back with “a powerful coming-of-age story like no other,” according to Bookpage’s Lauren Bufferd, who says “The Lying Life of Adults” “simmers with overt rage toward parental deception, teachers’ expectations and society’s impossible ideals of beauty and behavior.” Netflix is already adapting the book into a series, so read it here before it hits your screen.

In comparison with other novels of her, particularly the Neapolitan Novels, this one seemed to me not that appealing.
